The origins of Monaco RV can be traced back to Junction City, Oregon, where Ray Mehaffey founded the Caribou Manufacturing Company in 1968. In just over 25 years, Caribou had designed and produced approximately 1,000 high-quality campers, many with individualized floor plans.
Caribou began manufacturing a mini-motorhome called the Monaco in 1971. Having established a reputation for including deluxe features and accommodations in all its previously built campers, Caribou designed the Monaco for comfort and luxury. The mini-motorhome soon became the best selling mini-motorhome across the United States, and in 1977, the company’s name was changed to Monaco Coach Corporation.
Today, Monaco is one of the leading manufacturers of premium motorcoaches with impeccable performance and unparalleled accommodations. The Monaco line of luxury recreational vehicles has grown over the years to become one of the world’s preeminent RV brands.
